A visionary, leader, teacher, and philosopher, Roland understood how to get the best out of people and how to realize a dream, a goal, of Independent Living. Known as the "Commander" for his use of the teachings of Sun Tzu and the Art of War and as the "Bus Driver" for his familiar use of his Big White Cloud (a bus) to shuttle people around during ADAPT actions, he will long be remembered by many.
